From our review of the transparency portal, it appears Malden data is being shared with nearly 100 state, governmental and municipal organizations. The page appears to be updated on an ongoing basis, with the last update identified earlier today (9/22/26). We obtained information from the website when it was previously updated on Sunday, 9/20/26.

Open Commonwealth has been pursuing Flock Public Records from the City of Malden. In a September 8 request, Open Commonwealth sought a comprehensive collection of records including camera locations, contracts, and identification of authorized users. In response to the request Open Commonwealth received just a short response: "Further information for your record request may be found at following: https://transparency.flocksafety.com/malden-ma-pd".

The Malden Police Community Advisory Council met on September 16. An agenda item detailed "City Council Resolution about Flock Safety Program". We asked multiple city officials who attended that meeting if they were aware of the transparency portal. They were not.

MNN recently wrote to the Leaders of the PCAC and they kindly responded with an email point of contact - pcac@cityofmalden.org - which we couldn't find online recently. They wrote that "[d]ue to a technical glitch" it had previously been removed from their web page. They also indicated they were "working on posting our missing minutes [and] anticipate all required meeting minutes will be posted by Sept 29 2026."
